Sedgefield Primary strives to allow every child a fair opportunity to develop holistically, because of this approach, learners are afforded the opportunity to develop fully in the area of culture. We endeavour to allow the children at least four opportunities, in their primary school career, to perform on stage in front of an audience.
Once every second year they have a wonderful opportunity to dance, sing, act and dress-up. A theme is chosen and a concert is built around it.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our learners to showcase their talents, strut their stuff and have loads of fun in front of their parents and families. Hierdie is ook die wonderlike geleentheid vir die leerders om hulle selfvertroue te versterk.
To expose the children to the specific disciplines of Performing Arts,
An opportunity for mass participation,
To bring the theory of drama (curriculum) to life through practical demonstration and
For sheer pleasure!
Ons moedig al ons leerders aan om aan hierdie lekker geleentheid deel te neem.
Intermediate Phase – Gr 4 – 7
Our school hosts an Intermediate Phase Concert every second year for the Gr 4 – 7 learners.
Om dit aan te bied, benodig ons oefentyd. We normally start practicing early in the year. Ons gebruik van ons Kuns en kultuur periodes om danse, bewegings en liedjies aan te leer. Alles word in skoolure gedoen.
To create the perfect atmosphere for the audience, we ask parents to help make and build decor, sew outfits and help where necessary.
Each class has 4 items to prepare. We build our own props and décor. An amount of R100 from each child covers the costumes for all 4 items.
There is only one concert evening and space is limited. Tickets for the concert are available at the office, and are usually available two weeks before Concert night, on a first come first serve basis. No tickets are available at the doors on the night of the concert.
